PROJECT
GAMBIA:

PEOPLE FEEDING PEOPLE

People Feeding People

The warmest of welcomes to our Website! We are a Charity set up to support children in The Gambia (West Africa), one of the World's poorest countries. We work in partnership with our Catholic Church both here and in The Gambia to support St. John’s School for the Deaf in Serrekunda, as well as St. Patrick’s Lower Basic School and St. Joseph’s Nursery School in Darsilami. Together, we support the education and feeding of more than 1,000 of the world's most disadvantaged children.

OUR MISSION

Our core mission is to ensure that every child we support receives a hot and nutritious meal at School every day, helping to combat hunger while also providing an effective education.

Inspired by our faith and with thanks to our fantastic supporters, we are able to transform the lives of the 1,000+ children that we help.

HOW WE HELP

While supporting the School Feeding Programmes for St. John's, St. Patrick's and St. Joseph's Schools, we have also been able to supply the children with School Uniforms, Holy Items and School Bags packed full of essential educational materials. We also work with St. John's School for the Deaf to provide Hearing Aids.

Thank you Project Gambia. Thank you for giving us something to be inspired about. Thank you for all that you are doing. I can promise you that as long as you keep doing it, we will continue to support you - until every child in The Gambia is looked after".

ALIEU'S STORY

Alieu was a Pupil of St. John's School for the Deaf born with a rare disability resulting in him having no external ears and being born Deaf.

We were able to secure a Visa for Alieu to come to Scotland in 2019 for medical treatment, through our partnership with the NHS. Alieu was able to hear for the first time in his life on his 14th Birthday. He has now returned back home to The Gambia, with the memories of a lifetime - and hearing as though he was never Deaf.
