Name: Paul Lafferty
Title:
Founder/Treasurer
Home Parish: Christ the King, Holytown

Paul Lafferty is the Founder of Project Gambia: People Feeding People. Paul started the charity in 2012 alongside Frank Devine.

Paul is the Treasurer for the charity, and so it is his role to oversee the Finances of the Charity, although he is also heavily involved in other aspects of the Charity also.

Paul works as a Carer with cornerstone. In Paul’s spare time, he likes to DJ soul, funk and Jazz music.

 

 

 

Name: Francis Devine
Title: Founder/Chairperson
Home Parish: Holy Family, Mossend

Francis Devine is the Founder of Project Gambia: People Feeding People. Frank started the charity in 2012 alongside Paul Lafferty.

Frank is the Chairperson for the charity, and so it is his role to oversea the running daily operations of the charity, although he is also heavily involved in other aspects of the charity also.

Frank works full time for Skills Development Scotland as a careers adviser in Uddingston Grammar High School. In his spare time Frank is studying a PhD in Critical Media Studies – anti-Catholic print media.

 

 

 

Name: Rebecca Lafferty
Title: Fundraising Team Leader
Home Parish: St. John the Baptist, Uddingston

Rebecca Lafferty is a Fundraising team leader for Project Gambia: People Feeding People. Rebecca’s role is to organise various fundraising activities throughout the year for the charity, such as organising parish visits and events. Although she is also heavily involved in other aspects of the charity too such as running the Social Media accounts for the charity.

Rebecca recently completed a college diploma in tourism. 

 

 

 Name: Aidan Curivan
Title: Fundraising Team Leader
Home Parish: St. John the Baptist, Uddingston

Aidan Curivan is a Fundraising team leader for Project Gambia: People Feeding People. Aidan’s Role is to  organise various fundraising activities throughout the year for the charity such as organising parish visits and events. Although Aidan is also heavily involved in other aspects of the charity too such as running the Social Media accounts for the charity.

Aidan has recently graduated from Glasgow University with a degree in Medical Microbiology where he learned a lot about infectious diseases (bacteria, viruses and parasites) of these, Aidan has a particular interest in Malaria, one of the most common parasitic diseases in West Africa.

 

 

Name: Sharon Lafferty
Title: Secretary
Home Parish: St. Gabriel’s, Viewpark

Sharon Lafferty is the Secretary for Project Gambia: People Feeding People. Sharon’s role is to Support the Chairperson in ensure that the committee is smooth and functioning. Sharon is also responsible for maintaining effective records and administration.

Sharon works full time as a service improvement assistant. In her spare time Sharon enjoys spending time with her family and cooking.

 

 

Name: Lynne MacDonald
Title: Vice-Chairperson/ Trustee 

Lynne MacDonald is the Vice-chairperson and a trustee for Project Gambia: People Feeding People. Lynne’s role is to be responsible for making sure the charity is doing what it was set up to do, Making a difference to the charity’s local community and society as a whole.

Lynne works full time as a dental nurse in North Road Dental Practice in Bellshill, as Lynne works as a dental nurse she knows a lot about hygiene and taking care of people’s teeth. Lynne teaches the children of St. John’s School for the Deaf, St. Patricks and St. Joseph’s Nursery when she is over which helps the children learn how to take care of their teeth. In Lynne’s spare time she enjoys Running marathons to raise money for the charity

 

 

Name: Caroline McIntyre
Title: Trustee
Home Parish: St. Gerard’s, Bellshill

Caroline McIntyre is a trustee for Project Gambia: People Feeding People. Caroline is also a frequent fundraiser for the charity. 

Caroline first got involved when she heard Project Gambia at her parish of Sacred Heart and St. Gerard’s in Bellshill where she knew she would love to get involved.
